This February, WomenHeart will host the WomenHeart Forum, a transformative event designed to elevate the conversation about women’s cardiovascular health. With a blend of leadership meetings, educational sessions, and advocacy opportunities, the forum represents a pivotal moment for advancing the mission of WomenHeart and celebrating those who lead the charge in heart health advocacy.
What is the WomenHeart Forum?
The WomenHeart Forum, taking place February 2–4, 2025, in Washington, D.C., will bring together leaders from healthcare, patient advocacy, and policy to inspire change and action. This three-day event offers attendees the chance to engage deeply with WomenHeart’s mission through a series of key events:
- Leadership Meetings (February 2): WomenHeart leaders will reflect on the organization’s progress and collaborate on strategies to strengthen advocacy and impact in 2025.
- Heart Health IS Women’s Health Summit (February 3): This full-day summit will feature panel discussions, expert presentations, and opportunities to connect with advocates passionate about transforming women’s cardiovascular care.
- Wenger Awards Celebration (February 3, evening): A night to honor those making an extraordinary impact on women’s heart health, from innovative researchers to outstanding community leaders.
- Advocacy Day (February 4): WomenHeart Champions will meet with policymakers to share stories, highlight the urgency of equitable cardiovascular care, and advocate for policies that prioritize women’s heart health.
The Wenger Awards: A Celebration of Leadership and Impact
At the heart of the forum is the Wenger Awards Celebration, a signature event that honors the legacy of Dr. Nanette Wenger, a trailblazer in the field of cardiovascular care. These awards recognize exceptional individuals and organizations driving progress in women’s heart health through groundbreaking research, advocacy, and leadership.
For many, the Wenger Awards serve as a powerful reminder of how advocacy and innovation can change lives. Each awardee’s story reinforces the importance of collaboration and dedication to improving health outcomes for women.
Why the WomenHeart Forum Matters
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death for women, and many continue to face disparities in care and outcomes. The WomenHeart Forum will shine a light on these issues, bringing together voices from diverse sectors to create actionable solutions.
By uniting policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and patient advocates, the forum offers a unique space to address the systemic challenges in women’s heart health and to inspire a renewed commitment to equity and innovation.
