Rekha Mankad, MD - Excellence in Medical Leadership

Dr. Rekha Mankad is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases and the Director of The Women’s Heart Clinic and The Cardio Rheumatology Clinic at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Her primary focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease in women.

In her professional activities, she has focused her work on women with heart disease. These efforts have included being a spokesperson for AHA’s Go Red campaign, as well as presenting at events such as WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease. Dr. Mankad also spends clinical time in the Echocardiography Laboratory where she has a special interest in valvular heart disease. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Mankad’s research interests include the relationship between autoimmune diseases and ischemic heart disease.
