WomenHeart’s Corporate Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of representatives from a prestigious group of corporations committed to advancing women’s heart health. CAC members provide a forum for collaboration and consultation with WomenHeart, helping to identify emerging trends among patient advocates, medical and policy experts, and funders.
WomenHeart is grateful for the new members who joined our CAC this year, including Esperion, Kowa Pharmaceuticals and MyoKardia. They joined 9 other corporations who have provided support over the years. The full list of CAC members is available here.
Members of our Corporate Advisory Committee provide WomenHeart with critical unrestricted general operating revenue, allowing WomenHeart to sustain the core elements of our work: supporting, educating and advocating for women living with or at risk of heart disease. In part, because of the support provided by our CAC, we have been able to train over 950+ women as WomenHeart Champions at our annual Science and Leadership Symposium, expand our patient support networks, attend countless health fairs, and provide support to millions of women suffering from heart disease.
CAC members have benefited from the expertise of WomenHeart Champions, inviting them to participate as speakers, moderators, national campaign spokespeople, and advisors for their publications, social media campaigns, executive briefings, advisory boards, and more. These opportunities amplify the voices of women living with heart disease and allow WomenHeart to reach a broad audience with important messages about heart health, educational resources and other tools .
Some recent Corporate Advisory Committee-led efforts:
- In February, Bayer invited WomenHeart Champions Yesenia Araujo and Agnes Czuchlewski to participate in their Hidden Risk campaign. Taking place in New York City, the campaign featured Yesenia and Agnes in a live-art installation where passersby learned about the hidden risk factors of cardiovascular disease. (Learn more here)
- Over the last six months, WomenHeart Champions have participated in numerous advisory roundtables and employee briefings with partners, including Amgen, BMS/Pfizer, Kowa, Bayer and Novartis.
During this time of uncertainty, WomenHeart will continue to provide opportunities for both our Corporate Advisory Committee members and our Champions to connect, to share stories and insights and to provide one another with as much support, education and advocacy as we can. We are thankful for the growing and deepening partnership with our Corporate Advisory Committee.
