Katie Ann Powell, a dynamic entrepreneur, communications professional, and the current Miss District of Columbia, has built a life rooted in gratitude and service. A business owner since age 8 and host of the Full Confidence Ahead Podcast, Katie Ann holds an MBA and degrees in Public Relations, Portuguese, and Harp performance. As President of Greater Washington Jump$tart, she empowers educators to teach financial literacy. A professional harpist for over 20 years, she’s performed in 7 countries. Katie Ann’s personal journey with heart health began in 5th grade when she contracted MRSA, requiring a PICC line to deliver life-saving medication directly to her heart. Her experience with heart disease has shaped her advocacy for heart health, a mission she continues as a heart ambassador with the Miss America Organization and American Heart Association, where she also learned CPR as part of their national initiative. She now prioritizes heart health through daily physical activity, a testament to her enduring gratitude for the heart that saved her life.
