WomenHeart is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Wenger Awards. Named after women heart disease pioneer Dr. Nanette Kass Wenger, the Wenger Award highlights excellence in women heart disease, including research, innovation, practice, advocacy and partnerships. Please submit nominations for this year’s Wenger Awards to mail@womenheart.org no later than February 7, 2020, with the following information.
- Nominee’s name/organization and contact information
- Brief description of why you believe this individual/organization deserves this award at this time
- Letter of recommendation
- Curriculum vitae, if applicable (a short bio will work as well)
Awards categories are as follows (subject to some modification based on who the nominees and awardees are):
Excellence in Communications/ Media: presented to an individual or organization who has reached a national audience with breakthrough messages about women and heart disease
Excellence in Medical Leadership/ Research: presented to a healthcare provider who has demonstrated a commitment to women and heart disease, and made a significant contribution to advancing research, innovation or clinical practice on their behalf
Excellence in Public Policy: presented to an individual or organization who best focuses on improving public perceptions and policies that will educate women and reduce their heart disease risks and ensure access to care
Excellence in Community Outreach/ Advocacy: presented to an individual or organization who has demonstrated a commitment to advocate for or to educate women about heart disease, to improve their quality of care and has fully embraced their need for healing and empowerment
Save the Date – the Wenger Awards will be held on Monday, May 18 at the InterContinental, The Wharf, in Washington, DC.
